Drum and Bugle Corps Competition

They are athletes, artists and performers.

Some of the most talented musicians and performance ensembles will compete this weekend in a Drum and Bugle Corps competition. The bold brassy sounds of top corps will take the field on Saturday, July 10 as the California State Open Drum and Bugle Corps Competition comes to Fremont's Tak Fudenna Memorial Stadium for the first time. 12 World Class, Open Class and All-Age drum corps from Washington, Oregon, and California will perform during this exciting showcase of Marching Music's Major League. The Santa Clara Vanguard hosts this spectacular evening of entertainment. Vanguard and Vanguard Cadets are frequent participants in the Fremont 4th of July Parade.

"We are thrilled to have such talented young performers come to Fremont," stated Steve Cho, former Fremont vice Mayor and Vanguard Board Member. "People will enjoy the musical entertainment of these drum corps."

Local school band programs will be selling advance purchase tickets and working concession stands at the show as fundraisers for their programs. Individual tickets for the show are $15 advance purchase and $18 at the gate. Group discounts are available. Tickets are available at: Allegro Music, Suju's Coffee, Fremont Flowers, Mission Coffee, Antique Treasures, Morning Glory, Mission Blvd. Baskin Robins, Happy Fish Swim School, The Book End in Newark, Signarama in Union City, members of American High School Marching Band Boosters and members of the Mission San Jose High School Band.
