The Path Less Traveled

What do the words summer, hiking trails, color and creativity suggest to you? They are reminiscent of being outdoors and enjoying nature. Sun Art gallery's newest member exhibit titled "Off the Beaten Path" will transport you outside into a world that evokes the senses.
Over 30 member artists will participate and the artwork promises to be colorful and lively. The paintings are in different and expressive mediums-sculpture, ceramics, glasswork and photography. Additionally, there will be an enlightening artist's closing reception and fundraiser on Saturday, July 24 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Gallery.
Some of the participating artists may sound familiar to you because they have displayed such excellent artwork in the past. Several contributors include Howard Pugh, Juliet Wood, Natalie Juntz, Dr. Htain Win, Gus Burgameester, Allison, Wright, Kathleen Peterson, Joni Miller, Lynn Hossom, David Steffes, Patra Nesseth Steffes, Mohana Ranjani, Thomas Cory, Ken Smith, Alan Haley, Nick Calarco, Wanda Kersey, Minal Jeswani, and Jane Nelson.
Laura Williams, an artist teaching workshops and doing demonstrations around the bay area has some gorgeous paintings produced outdoors in natural light. Her subjects include landscapes, wildflowers, vineyards and oceans.
Yael Degany has produced some amazing designs on paper. Ranjani Mohanna was born and raised in India. She currently lives in Northern California. She is a self-taught artist whose painting skills have been soaring these past three years.
Dr. Htain Win says, "Creation of a wide spectrum of ideas for artwork is a never ending process. Art is a pleasant journey for me. I use and practice the art with a growing of joys. Art is the record of the heart receiving ever lasting healing for the longevity of life."
The talent, experience, and beauty these artists bring to the show is something you will want to see for yourself. Part of the admission goes to supporting the children's art programs at Sun Art Gallery.
