21-year-old Ian Moore has been arrested for hitting a 60-year-old woman with a skateboard on June 4th near the intersection of Mission and Niles Boulevard. The victim, who suffered severe head injuries, was found by witnesses shortly after an apparent attack near the 7-11 Store. A male suspect was seen running away west-bound along Niles Blvd from Mission. An extensive perimeter was established, and a search conducted, however the suspect was not located. The weapon in the attack was the suspect's skateboard.
On Wednesday, June 16 at about 8:15 p.m. Sgt. Tom Severance of the Street Crimes Unit spotted a male that matched the suspect description riding a skateboard near the intersection of Civic Center Dr and Walnut Ave. Ian Moore was stopped, questioned, and admitted to the assault. Several items of evidence were recovered from his home including the clothes he was wearing during the attack. The skateboard he was riding when arrested is believed to be the one used to assault the victim. The 21-year-old Fremont resident has been charged with attempted murder. |
