June 8, 2010 > Man arrested for aggravated assault Man arrested for aggravated assault By Meenu Gupta Hayward Police arrested a 39-year-old man on charges of robbery, aggravated assault, false imprisonment and kidnapping. The suspect robbed a woman before trying to force her into a van he didn't own. He was under the influence of a controlled substance when the Police arrested him and was clad only in his underwear. The incident took place in the area of Regal Avenue and Cascade Street around 3:45 p.m. on Sunday, May 30 when the suspect approached a woman walking to a grocery store and punched her in the face. The man was uncooperative, and police has to use a Taser to subdue him. He is being held at Santa Rita Jail.
