May 25, 2010 > Tip-A-Cop benefits Special Olympics Tip-A-Cop benefits Special Olympics Submitted By Officer Kevin Jackson, Milpitas PD Photos By Bill Mancebo Law enforcement officers waited tables, carried plates of food, and greeted guests entering the Milpitas Outback Restaurant at 1246 Great Mall Drive on Wednesday evening, May 19; all for a good cause. The Milpitas Police Department, in conjunction with Special Olympics of Northern California, hosted "Tip-A-Cop" and collected donations or tips totaling $3,474.77. Free Child ID Fingerprinting was also offered at the event. Money raised helps offset the cost for athletes to participate in Special Olympics. The next scheduled Special Olympics will be held at UC Davis on June 25-27, 2010.
