Submitted By Sgt. Daryl Sequeira
Milpitas Police booked Rodney Andre Neals, 51-year-old male, Fremont resident, into the Santa Clara County Jail for criminal threats, vandalism, battery on an officer, and resisting arrest. The incident took place on Monday, May 3, at approximately 9:18 a.m. when Milpitas Police Department officers were summoned to Chase Bank, located at 37 North Milpitas Boulevard for a subject threatening a teller and breaking things inside the bank.
Officers contacted Rodney Neals inside the bank and asked him to step outside so they could help resolve the issue, but Neals became agitated and punched one of the responding officers. At this point, a violent struggle ensued, and Neals was ultimately taken into custody. The struggle left one of the responding officers with a broken hand; Neals sustained a small laceration on his face.
