Dog Scouts of America

Submitted By Kelly Grant

Humane Society Silicon Valley (HSSV) is launching the first Dog Scouts of America troop in the Bay Area. If you believe in positive reinforcement, making your dog(s) part of the family and setting an example of responsible dog ownership, then this is ideal for you.

A free informational meeting will be held on every fourth Thursday of each month. First-time attendees should leave their dog(s) at home until they meet with a troop leader. Dogs must be dog-sociable and on leash at all times.

Gain a better understanding of how your dog thinks, learns and what drives his behavior. Learn how your dog can earn the title of "Dog Scout" and begin earning patches, participating in events and camps.

For more information, visit www.dogscouts.org or call Beth Ward at (408) 262-2133 ext. 178.
