Tip-A-Cop

Milpitas: The Milpitas Police Department, in conjunction with Special Olympics of Northern California is hosting a Tip-A-Cop event at Outback Steakhouse restaurant in Milpitas. The event will be held from 5-9 p.m.; all proceeds will benefit Special Olympics. The Milpitas Police Department will also be offering free Child ID Fingerprinting at the event.

Newark: Members of the Newark Police Department will assist servers during the evening of May 22 at Chevy's in Newark to raise money for Special Olympics
Tip-A-Cop is a joint effort of Police, FBI, California Highway Patrol and sheriff's department personnel working together to help raise funds for Special Olympics. Officers serve food and drinks and greet customers.
Red Robin in association with the local law enforcement recently hosted this event for Special Olympics Northern California. Another Newark Tip-A-Cop event is scheduled with participation by local law enforcement. "At this event in addition to what we had at the Red Robin event we will also have assistance from the Golden Gate Garrison," said Officer Nick Mavrakis, Newark Police Department. Officer Mavrakis has actively been involved in the event for the past ten years.
The group wears authentic Star Wars costumes and appears at movie premieres and other functions as the characters from the Star Wars movies. "Last time they helped us we had Darth Vader, his Storm Troopers, and other characters. They will be at this event available to meet the public."
Proceeds from Tip-A-Cop support young athletes of Special Olympics and the summer games at UC Davis. For more information on donations, support, or participation please contact Officer Nick Mavrakis at (510) 578-4778.
