The Joy of Color
By Patsy Ledbetter
If you admire colors of the rainbow, you'll love the "Joy of Color Festival of the Arts" to be held on May 22 in Milpitas. Fantastic art works from various generations of students of Doreen Walker, Betty Wong and Harriet McGuire will inspire you. A pot luck meal will be held for the individual artists from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
A variety of media will be used. The culturally rich Chinese Brush Painting will be displayed by Betty Wong's class. These students are dedicated to sharing one of the world's most admired art forms. Harriet McGuire's students who study beginning drawing, techniques of water color pencil and portrait drawing will be on hand to show the work they have completed. Doreen Walker's class appropriately called "The Joy of Color" will present their oil paintings. You will not want to miss this colorful event. All of the artists are students who are multi-talented and have a passion for art.
