Karate kid needs votes

Submitted By Anthony Magallanes

Jasmine Magallanes is a local Fremont girl and middle child of the World Champion Martial Arts Magallanes Family. She and one of her Kung Fu Masters, Jie Chow competed as a team in a martial arts competition that qualified them for Phase Two of "The Karate Kid Challenge" competition.

Phase Two is a challenge between first place teams from 10 Six Flags parks across the country. For one week, May 18 - 25, internet viewers can vote for their favorite team at www.yahoovoteforthekaratekid.com. The top three teams will be flown to Hollywood to walk the red carpet with Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith to watch the premiere of "The Karate Kid" movie.

The team with the most votes will be announced in front of Jackie Chan as the winner of the Karate Kid Challenge and receive prizes and acknowledgement. Acknowledgement as one of the top martial artists in the world in front of Jackie Chan would be a dream-come-true for Jasmine. She, along with her brother and sister, have trained and dedicated their lives to martial arts for the last 10 years.

Jasmine is a 10-time National Champion and a five-time World Martial Arts Champion. She along with her sister and brother are well known in the martial arts world as they have competed across the United States and performed in numerous Masters Demonstrations in places such as Disney World, Disneyland, Great America, and Six Flags.

Jasmine is looking for community support and encourages people to vote for her team every day from May 18 through the 25 at www.yahoovoteforthekaratekid.com.
