Fremont Crime Report
Submitted By Detective Bill Veteran, Fremont PD
Monday, April 26 Officers responded to Kirby's Sports Bar in Irvington on a report of a stabbing. One of the security guards was stabbed in his waist while another stabbing victim was found by Officer Baca in front of Bay Street Coffee. Apparently the victim at Bay Street had been in the original confrontation with another group of males, and when the security guard went to break up the fight, he placed the Bay Street victim in a bear hug. While they were both together in the bear hug, the suspect stabbed both of them. Neither victim suffered life threatening injuries, and there were no viable suspect leads. Officer Settle is investigating the case.
Tuesday, April 27 Officer Shannon and Officer Gilfoy investigated a DUI collision at Fremont and Central. Mario Alanis broadsided a compact car with his full sized pickup. Both occupants of the compact were transported to Eden for trauma. Collision and DUI arrest has been made.
Wednesday, April 28 Union City was involved in a vehicle pursuit in which the suspects abandoned the car and fled into a house. Resident escaped and advised police. Union City Police Department conducted a surround and callout with no response. One of three suspects surrendered immediately. Sgt. Gott, K-9 Officer Lambert, and Officer Edwards assisted. A second suspect surrendered upon hearing the K-9 announcement. The third suspect was not located. |
