Newark Police arrest two suspects for residential burglary
Submitted By Commander Robert Douglas, Newark PD
On Monday, April 19 at 9:33 a.m., Newark Police Department Officers responded to the 7600 block of Hermitage Avenue on the report of a burglary in progress.
The resident was inside her home when she heard a noise. She called out thinking it was a family member, which caused the intruders to flee. Officers apprehended two men in the immediate area, Ronald Shelby, (age 18) and Chad Bryant (age 18), both of Newark, and determined that they had committed the burglary. The suspects were each charged with one felony count of burglary. The investigation revealed the burglars gained entry through an unlocked rear window of the residence. The homeowner was not harmed during this incident.
Officers are currently investigating whether the suspects in this case are responsible for any other recent Newark burglaries. To provide related information please contact the Newark Police Department at (510) 578 4237. |
