Proclamations and Presentations:
Lisa Miller recognized as Union City Dispatcher/Clerk of the Year.
April 11-17 proclaimed as "National Public Safety Telecommunications Week."
April 2010 proclaimed as "Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Month" in Union City.
Information systems, CrimeReports.com and PoliceReports.us were presented by Capt. Kevin Finnerty, Union City Police Department. The information is now available at www.UnionCity.org.

Consent Calendar:
Awarded contract for the 2009-2010 pedestrian and bicycle facility improvement projects to Linear Options, Inc. Menlo Park, in the amount of $89,564.40.
Appropriated $172,894 of Transportation Development Act Article 3 funds from the Metropolitan Transportation Commission for sidewalk improvements on Meyers Drive and ADA curb ramps throughout the city.
Authorized pre-school licensing application to the Community Care Licensing Division of the State of California Department of Social Services for a day-care program at Kennedy Community Center.

Public Hearings:
Introduced a zoning text amendment regulate wireless telecommunication facilities and repealed the wireless telecommunication facilities standards policy statement. Facilities will be allowed on school sites. They must be either concealed or placed underground in parkland. Designs for telecommunication towers can be streamlined. Fiberglass could be sculpted into any shape and the antennae can be hidden behind it. Ground equipment, which has increased in size, will also need to be concealed. Carriers have responded positively to clear rules for their structures.

Approved Union City Transit Service Plan.

Redevelopment Agency Board approved second amendment to the disposition and development agreement, containing modifications, with Mid-Peninsula Housing Coalition and related documents for the Union City Block 4 maintenance association.

Oral Communications:
Firefighter Shenah Groom spoke in support of the merger between the Alameda County Fire Department and Union City Fire Department.

Roberto Munoz invited the council and community at large to the Tri-CED Compost Giveaway to celebrate Earth Day on Saturday, April 24.
