April 14, 2010 > Marvelous Mosaics Marvelous Mosaics Submitted By Lucinda Bender The Fremont Art Association announces their April guest artist, Dmitry Grudsky. If you are interested in the art of mosaics you won't want to miss this opportunity to learn from a professional mosaic artist. Grudsky will demonstrate the creation of unique sculptures using brightly colored vitreous glass and stained glass. He will discuss design principles and color options for creating a pleasing piece of mosaic art. Dmitry Grudsky was educated in Russia and holds a Master Degree in Fine Arts for the Tashkent Art Institute. This intensive training exposed him to a broad range of artistic styles, building on a strong foundation in classical Western European art traditions with stylistic infusions from Asia Minor. Since coming to Fremont, Grudsky has been a valued teacher at Jan's Art Studios as well as several other venues throughout the Bay Area. Grudsky teaches watercolor, mural art, oil and pastel painting as well as mosaic workshops. An artist reception will be held on Wednesday, April 7 at 7 p.m. at the Fremont Art Associations' Gallery.
