Wine, women & shoes... fashion

Submitted By Renee Snyder

St. Rose Hospital Foundation's second annual Wine, Women & Shoes will unfold at Berkeley's Claremont Hotel Club & Spa with a stylish new addition.... a fashion show. Featuring some of Napa and Livermore Valley's top varietals and vintages accompanied by delectable hors d'oeuvres offered by the Claremont, this event will help ladies pair the perfect wine with their favorite shoes. Last year, more than 350 guests attended the event and raised more than $58,000 for St. Rose Hospital's Women's and Children's services.

"Anyone who has a passion for fashion and a love for wine must definitely attend. It's the type of event that brings it all together- wonderful women, style, a great venue and a noble cause," says Pamela Russo, Executive Director, St. Rose Hospital Foundation.

This year, St. Rose Hospital Foundation's Wine Women & Shoes, starting at 5 p.m., will coincide with the 2010 Phil Hellmuth Celebrity Poker Tournament, which begins at 8 p.m. at the Claremont. Guests who register early for the event will receive a complimentary spectator admission ticket to the Celebrity Poker Tournament and two weekly passes to the Professional Golf Tournament hosted April 14-18, 2010, at TPC San Francisco Bay at Stonebrae.

One of America's most famous and beloved icons, fashion-forward thinking Miss Chiquita, will be on hand and will change her shoes for charity for the first time ever. A unique designer shoe, created by Italian shoe-designer Angelo Anastasio for her to wear, will be unveiled that evening.

"Miss Chiquita is the essence of Chiquita and we couldn't be happier to have her present among these dynamic women as we partner with St. Rose Hospital Foundation to sponsor this event," said Brian Kocher, president, Chiquita Fresh North America. "The privilege is ours to be part of an event that will make a significant contribution to helping children in the community. Our passion is to empower people to maintain healthy lifestyles and this core purpose is shared by our friends at St. Rose."

Excitement and fun plus indulgence and enjoyment await all who attend in support of Women and Children's causes. To register for this event, heaven for those who adore elite designer shoes, handbags and accessories while sampling gourmet food and wine, contact the St. Rose Hospital Foundation at (510) 264-4007 or visit and click on 'Donate Now.'
