Fremont Education Foundation's (FEF's) After School Band Telethon 2010 is complete - but much of the "production" lies ahead: collecting the money pledged, gathering more pledges, corporate donors and corporate matching, thanking everyone, and communicating ideas for future fundraising. Considering the economy and the technical challenges we are thrilled with the financial support, volunteer efforts and community awareness that the 11th Annual Telethon created.

At the end of the two-day telecasts, we reported $45,609, more than half of the $88,000 goal. That amount is increasing daily as the telethon is re-broadcast on EdTV and on the web. The "Donate Now" button makes it easy for the community to give music to Fremont's youth.

FEF's After School Band Program is "tootin' a horn" of thanks to:

Hosts: Sherea Westra, KK Kaneshiro, Rick Geha, and David Bonacorssi.

Production Team: Walter Garcia, Duke DeLeon, Carlos Carillo, Ann Crosbie, Deanna Gravel, Eric Damron, Shine Lee, Skye Pecson, Richard Cao, Janelle Raber, Janet Steinmayer, Drew Hicks, Brooke Hicks, and Alex Roberts.

Location: Robertson High School, especially Principal Sal Hererra and Secretary Delilah Hinohoza-Rood.

FUSD , Schools, Music Programs & Instructors, and PTAs: John F. Kennedy High School, American High School, Horner Junior High School; Ardenwood, Azevada, Cabrillo, Harvey Green, Hirsch, Niles, Oliveira, Parkmont, and Vallejo Mill elementary schools, and Fremont Adult School.

Phone Banks: Keller-Williams Realty and Prudential California Realty.
Phone Bank Managers: Sandi Pantages and John Smith.

Businesses: Fremont Bank, Allegro Music, Dale Hardware, C & L Music, Niles Rotary, Round Table Pizza,, Collective, SJ Formalwear, and Aqua Adventure Waterpark.

Fremont Education Foundation Board, and Friends: Judith Cameron, Michelle Majeski, and Penny Martinez.

Mostly, a special thank you to the more than 75 volunteers from our schools and community who were Phone Bank Callers - we couldn't have done it without you - and know you'll keep spreading the word about the need for more donations!

You can still contribute and help to keep Music in Our Schools! The goal is $88,000.
