Pathways Hospice receives grant

Submitted By Judy Conner

Pathways Hospice Foundation recently received a grant for $75,000 from the Washington Hospital Health care Foundation. The grant will support hospice care and services to patients residing within the Washington Township Health Care District, which includes Fremont, Newark, Union City, part of South Hayward, and unincorporated Sunol.

"Washington Hospital and the Washington Hospital Health care Foundation have a long standing partnership with Pathways Hospice," said Nancy Farber, chief executive officer of Washington Hospital Healthcare System. "Pathways plays a critical role in the full continuum of health care services offered locally and we support their commitment in providing high quality and compassionate end-of-life care to patients in our community."

The grant to Pathways Hospice Foundation is possible because of community funds raised by Washington Hospital Healthcare Foundation at their signature fund raising events, Trees of Angels, and the Washington Hospital Annual Golf Tournament. Pathways Hospice Foundation supports Pathways Home Health and Hospice by funding services that could not be offered without community support.
