March 31, 2010 > Resignation of City Manager Greg Jones Resignation of City Manager Greg Jones Submitted By Joanne Burkman Hayward City Council voted on Tuesday, March 23, 2010, to accept the resignation of City Manager Greg Jones. Mr. Jones will remain in his post through Friday, April 2. Responding to Mr. Jones' March 10, 2010, letter of resignation, the Council thanked him for his service and for his valuable contributions during the two-and-a-half years he has held the position. "We appreciate his efforts, and we wish him well in his future endeavors," stated Hayward Mayor Michael Sweeney, speaking on behalf of the Council. The Council will meet in closed session on Tuesday, March 30, to name an Interim City Manager and discuss the process for choosing a permanent replacement.
