Consent Calendar:
Annual status report on General Plan and Housing Element implementation to be sent to the Governor's Office of Planning and Research as required by state planning law.
Removed from consent and considered separately: Designate recently purchased 14.02 acre parcel and four other parcels already owned by the City of Fremont as a 98 acre historical park named Sabercat Historical Park. Park property includes significant fossil remains from the early Pleistocene Epoch. A new "faunal" age named Irvingtonian was named in honor of this find. The land designated will form a "science learning corridor" and application will be made to the National Registry for recognition of its importance.
Ceremonial: Building Inspector Specialist/Fire Sue Byrne honored for 25 years of service. Due to budget restraints, she is currently the sole fire inspector specialist for the City of Fremont.
Redevelopment Agency: Approve the sale of excess City and Agency parcels and storm drain easements to Caltrans for State Route 238 (Mission Blvd.)
Scheduled Items: Receive information and report of Niles Boulevard street improvements including traffic calming measures, surface overlay, utility upgrades, bus pads and landscaping between Nursery Avenue and the Sullivan Underpass.
Referrals: Confirm Mayor's appointments to various commissions
Support Blue Ribbon Commission report on the importance of NUMMI over the last 25 years. (Weickowski)
