Removed from consent and considered separately: Designate recently purchased 14.02 acre parcel and four other parcels already owned by the City of Fremont as a 98 acre historical park named Sabercat Historical Park. Park property includes significant fossil remains from the early Pleistocene Epoch. A new "faunal" age named Irvingtonian was named in honor of this find. The land designated will form a "science learning corridor" and application will be made to the National Registry for recognition of its importance. Ceremonial: Building Inspector Specialist/Fire Sue Byrne honored for 25 years of service. Due to budget restraints, she is currently the sole fire inspector specialist for the City of Fremont. Redevelopment Agency: Approve the sale of excess City and Agency parcels and storm drain easements to Caltrans for State Route 238 (Mission Blvd.) Scheduled Items: Receive information and report of Niles Boulevard street improvements including traffic calming measures, surface overlay, utility upgrades, bus pads and landscaping between Nursery Avenue and the Sullivan Underpass.
