Authorized Redevelopment Agency Executive Director to execute contract with SZFM Design Studio for faŤade design on two blocks of Foothill Boulevard in a maximum amount of $95,000. Block 1 is on the west side of Foothill between Maple Ct. and A St. Block 2 is on the east side between A St. and B St. The RDA's Downtown Retail Attraction Loan Program aims to upgrade building exteriors, signage, lighting and other aesthetics to improve the retail image of the city's historic district.
Submitted application for Jobs for Main Street Act 2010 (Stimulus II) funding and authorized city manager to advertise and award local streets and roads (LSR) projects. $24.46M is available to Alameda County LSR projects; the city will request $3.4M for the rehabilitation of nine streets with expected completion in Oct. 2010. The project is federally funded and the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program will apply.
Approved a contract with Godbe Research, Inc. for a second community satisfaction survey as part of an on-going monitoring of changes to community priorities and service requirements and expectations. This survey will determine progress since January 2008. The sample size will be 600 with a random sample of respondents. Given the two-year survey cycle, the next survey will be commissioned in 2012.
