Hayward planning commission meetings to start earlier, effective April 8
Submitted By Miriam Lens
Effective April 8, 2010, the Hayward Planning Commission is changing the starting time of Planning Commission meetings from 7:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and will combine work sessions with the regular Planning Commission meetings.
The Planning Commission is taking this action for two reasons - to increase the transparency of work sessions and to foster greater participation in discussion and debate by the community. By moving the work sessions to the Council Chambers, work sessions can be televised and streamed over the internet just as Planning Commission meetings are. Also, this change will be consistent with the changes that were made for City Council meetings.
The Planning Commission took this action at the Hayward Planning Commission meeting of March 11, 2010, by unanimous vote.
Hayward residents and businesses have the option of being added to an email distribution list to receive agendas on a regular basis by sending a request to planning.division@hayward-ca.gov.
