McGee Photos By William Mancebo Students and staff at Newark Junior High School wore pink on Friday, March 12 to show support for the many teachers who will be receiving "pink slips" across the state. The state budget crisis is at a critical stage and the cuts to education funding are forcing school districts to issue thousands of layoff notices to teachers and other school employees. Newark Junior High students honored their teachers on this somber day. The NJHS family of students and staff are looking to the future and clinging to the hope that school funding may at some point be increased.
