Phantom Art Gallery at Great Mall
Submitted By Scott Dobroski
Great Mall, Milpitas, invites the Bay Area's photography-art enthusiasts to enjoy this year's Phantom Art Gallery display "Craftsmen: Where Past Meets Present" from Thursday, March 11 through Sunday, August 22. All photography on display will be available for purchase with part of the proceeds benefitting the Milpitas Arts Commission for children's arts events and programs.
As part of the exhibit, Fremont-based artist Caroline Andreolle will feature cultural and historical photography of craftsmen. The gallery is filled with high-quality photography comparing and contrasting the lives and stories of craftsmen, ranging from the 16th century in Burgundy, France, to the present day in California. Art enthusiasts will appreciate the subtle detail in each piece, including shadows on tools, hand gestures and artistic patterns.
"We're excited to welcome Caroline Andreolle to share such a different concept in art exhibitions with all of our mall shoppers," said Cristina Robles, director of mall marketing and business development at Great Mall. "Great Mall is proud to give shoppers the opportunity to view unique art works that will only enhance an already popular shopping experience."
A public reception with light refreshments will be held on Thursday, March 11 at 6 p.m., when Great Mall, partnering with the City of Milpitas, will unveil the display, located in the Entrance 5A Corridor. Andreolle will be present to meet the public, sign autographs and pose for pictures.
