March 3, 2010 > Sponsors needed for 2010 Multimedia Fest Sponsors needed for 2010 Multimedia Fest By Alyson Whitaker Mission Valley Regional Occupational Program (MVROP) is gearing up for the 2010 Multimedia Fest on May 14 - an opportunity for students to display their projects. The evening will showcase youth video, photography, graphic arts, animation, and web design. Prizes will be given for an "audience choice" award, as well as for technical and creative awards decided by the panel of judges. MVROP offers career training for high tech, and high demand fields. In existence for forty years, MVROP has helped prepare thousands of students for successful business, medical, and technical careers. MVROP is expanding on what has been done in the past, making the event more family-friendly and accessible to the community. A goal has been set to have over 250 people in attendance. This year, the event will be held at the main MVROP site at 5019 Stevenson Boulevard in Fremont. Attendees will be able to sit on the grass outside the building, and view the student entries projected on an outside wall. Culinary students will be preparing food samplers for attendees to enjoy. The event is free to attend, but organizers are seeking sponsors and donors for the event. Varied sponsorship levels are available. Deadline for sponsorships is March 19. All proceeds benefit the programs of Mission Valley ROP. Monetary contributions and donations of goods and services for student awards and raffle baskets all will go toward making the event a success.
