Musical performances scheduled at Milpitas Library

Submitted By Melanie McInerney

The down home blues group, Johnny McGee and & the All Stars, will appear in concert at Milpitas Public Library on Sunday, February 21 at 1 p.m. Popular Bay Area musicians will play and sing some great Chicago-St. Louis-Memphis style blues at this special Black History Month Performance. The concert is free.

There will be another free concert when the Firebird Youth Chinese Orchestra returns to Milpitas Public Library. The talented, young musicians will perform on Sunday, February 28 at 4 p.m. This year's performance features soloist Shenshen Zhang, award-winning player of traditional Chinese instruments and an instructor for the orchestra. Ms. Zhang will play pipa, ruan and guzheng for a wonderful Chinese cultural experience.

These performances are open to all ages and are made possible by the generous support of the Friends of the Milpitas Library.
