Greenstein Rogoff Olsen & Co announced that managing partner Alan L. Olsen, is the recipient of the 2009 Silver Beaver Award for distinguished service to youth from the Boy Scouts of America.
Registered adult leaders, who have made an impact on the lives of youth through outstanding service, are awarded this honor through a nomination process. Through hard work, self sacrifice and dedication recipients implement the Scouting program and perform many years of community service. This award follows the annual 'Friends of Scouting' fundraising campaign. Olsen's efforts helped scouting raise $1 million last year to support five districts and more than 300 packs, troops, teams, crews and at risk youth in San Francisco and Alameda counties.
"I can think of no other program that teaches young people much needed values than scouting. Not only do they learn the joy of service, but they learn leadership skills, self sufficiency, and personal responsibility. I am honored to receive the Silver Beaver Award." said Olsen.
