'It's A Hard Rock Life' (Math Science Nucleus office location)
Learn how to identify the three types of rocks and the minerals they are mode of. We'll also look at the different environments that create rock.

Tuesday, April 6
'The Fossil Code' (Math Science Nucleus office location)
Students will discover paleontology as they learn how fossils are preserved and how to recognize them in rocks. Find out what animals lived in Fremont during the last ice age.

Wednesday, April 7
'Craters, Cracks and Creep' (Tule Ponds location)
Students will learn how earthquakes and volcanoes shape the earth

Thursday, April 8
'Finding Our Way' (Tule Ponds location)
Learn how to use a map and compass as we navigate our way around the Tule Ponds on a scavenger hunt.

Friday, April 9
'What About Watersheds?' (Tule Ponds location)
Find out how creeks, rivers, lakes, bays and the ocean are all one connected system. Students will learn about urban runoff and how to protect our waterways and oceans from pollution.

Junior Rangers Camp (Ages 6-10)
Students will participate in a variety of hands on activities developed to encourage environmental appreciation and safety during any outdoor experience. Camp is held at Central Park and instructed by Park Ranger Sandy and Friends. Participants must bring a bag lunch and drink. A must for young, inquiring minds that want to know! These classes are designed and taught by a park ranger to heighten your child's respect and awareness of their natural environment.

Central Park Extended Care Camp (Ages 5 - 14)
These early morning/late afternoon extended care options are for parents who need care for their children from 8-9 a.m. and/or 3-6 p.m. Responsible staff will either walk or drive children to/from any City of Fremont camp in Central Park that starts at 9 a.m. or ends at 3 p.m. A variety of activities will be provided.

In this new camp, campers will use their creative talents to create cooking projects and improve self-esteem through creative expression. During the week, campers will learn a lot and it will culminate on Friday with an Iron Chef Cookoff! Dress for messy fun.

Calling all young artists & chefs! Use your creative talents to explore art and create cooking projects all in one class. Each week has a different theme and culminates on Friday with an art show and homemade refreshments! Dress for messy fun.

Magic Wizard Camp (Ages 6-10)
Discover how to make an object appear or disappear and 'how to read a mind.' Magic Camp will teach you the basics! Future magicians will gain skills through an encouraging step-by-step approach while gaining self-esteem. Have fun while learning from a qualified magician who has a credential to teach and a Master of Arts in Theater Arts. Each camper will receive his/her very own box of tricks, wand and Wizard's Hat to keep after camp is over. Bring a snack. Lab fee of $20 due at the first class.

Creative Writing & Public Speaking Camp
Our full day camp combines both 1/2 day camps. In Writing for a Publication, students focus on the revision, editing, and publication process. Students gain valuable skills that apply to both creative and academic writing, and submit final work to online publications. Rock Climbing Camp at City Beach (Ages 6 - 15)

Junior Golf Camp - Fremont Park Golf and Practice Center

This class provides a fun atmosphere for learning golf swing fundamentals, sportsmanship, rules and etiquette. By the end of camp, your child will know how to play golf safely and with noticeable improvement. Registration includes NCGA membership for all students into the YOUTH ON COURSE program. Club rentals are available for $25 per week. Bring water and wear sunscreen every day. Please note: Full day campers play the course everyday from 1-3 p.m. and should bring lunch. (Ages 7 - 17)

Horsemanship - Young Riders 1 (Ages 8 - 14)
Young Riders offers an introductory course to horsemanship. Topics to be covered include: horse safety, horse care, grooming, saddling and use of tack, as well as an introduction to Western and English style riding. No prior riding experience is required. There is no aftercare. This is a working ranch. Campers must be picked up on time. Bring lunch.

This program features arts & crafts, computer classes, cooking projects, sports, tournaments, special events, and optional field trips. A small nutritious breakfast (cereal, fruit, pancakes, etc.) is also provided. Participants will have access to all center activities throughout camp. Please provide your child with a bag lunch daily.

SPRING Rec-n-Crew Teen Camp
Ages 11 1/2 - 16 years! (Must be currently enrolled in 6th grade).
Do something fun during spring vacation! Join your fellow teens at UCLS Rec-n-Crew Teen Camp for a week of daily trips, games, crafts, cooking and sports.

Union City Leisure Services Rec-n-Crew Teen Camp is supervised by trained recreation leaders. Weekly fees include all entrance fees and transportation costs. A bag lunch and snack needs to be brought each day. Please see the detailed Teen Camp calendar for specific daily information.
