January 27, 2010 > Transition to Kindergarten Workshop Transition to Kindergarten Workshop Submitted By Toby Librande Milpitas Parks & Recreation Services Youth Program Team, Kaiser Permanente Milpitas and the Milpitas Unified School District are organizing a free presentation that will help parents understand the range of skills needed by children to enter kindergarten. Expert panelists include Dr. Bao-Chau Nguyen, Pediatrician, Kaiser Permanente; Ms. Audrey Fong, Literacy & Intervention Coordinator, Milpitas Unified School District; Ms. Susan VonTersch, Kindergarten Teacher, Milpitas Unified School District; Ms. Lori Burns, Santa Clara County Partnership for School Readiness; Mr. Ranjit Bains, Pre-Kindergarten & Elementary School Parent and Ms. Anne Ehersman, Executive Director, Project Cornerstone. The program will discuss the importance of reading to your preschooler. It will teach ways to promote healthy habits at home and talk about how and when should you register your child for Kindergarten.
