Chanticleers Theatre awards gala
Submitted By Floyd Wayne
The Chanticleers' Rooster has something to crow about. For a free night of fun, attend Chanticleers Theatre's annual "Crow" awards gala on January 24 at 7 p.m., at Chanticleers Theatre in Castro Valley.
Help us celebrate our 16th annual gala to honor the plays presented in our 2009 season and to thank audiences who keep our theatre alive. It's something to "crow" about for the winners of awards in categories such as best play, actor, director, and others for their fine work in Castro Valley theatre.
Come and enjoy entertainment including scenes from the past season's productions of "Never Too Late," (Summer Arthur Long), directed by Barbara McKee; "Legends!," (James Kirkwood), directed by Gary Wright; "Light Up The Sky," (Moss Hart), directed by Michelle Markwart Deveaux, and "The Gingerbread Lady," (Neil Simon), directed by John Sellen.
Also featured will be songs by guest performers, Father Mark Wiesner and Georgia Lee (recipient of 2008 Best Actress Award), and dances by the award-winning troupe, Dance 10 Performing Arts.
Admission is free, as are the after-show food and drink. (Donations accepted.) Please make reservations by calling 510-SEE-LIVE (510-733-5483), 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
