Hidden Treasures/Local Talent
By Mona Shah
An eclectic mix of artwork provides a feast for the eyes and senses at Olive Hyde's Hidden Treasures - Local Talent art show. This exhibit showcases a wide variety of creations including painting, sculptures, and photography. Talented participating community artists include the works of Jan Schafir, Robyn Leimer, Thomas Cory, Farshid Namei, Jaci Daskarolis, Wayne Mall, Sheldon Parks, Jacline Derrider, Maureen and Peter Langenbach, Dmitry Grudsky, Alvin Dockter, Emi Tabuchi, Ralph Cooksey-Talbott, Carol Ponsaran and Pamela Bevans.
This bi-annual exhibit can be attributed to the creative energy of Gallery Curator, Sandra Hemsworth who wants to encourage local artists passionate about the Visual Arts. "The level of skill and arts education is not the primary objective, passion is," says Sandra She looks for artists and artisans committed to a personal journey of expression through art. Viewers can expect a wide range of originality in the artworks featured since artist selection is based on the pursuit of new depths in their artwork.
With so much to offer the show is a haven for all art aficionados. Hidden Treasures/Local Talent will be on display until February 6.
