StarStruck celebrates 15 years of youth theatre
By Janet Grant
Starstruck Theatre is celebrating 15 years of youth Performing Arts in the Fremont community. When Director Lori Stokes first began with her troupe of young people 15 years ago, she never dreamed that it would grow into the award winning company it is today. What started literally in her living room has developed into a high quality musical theatre group performing now in the beautiful Smith Center and starlit amphitheater of Ohlone College.
StarStruck has opened its 15th anniversary season with the "The Music Man," designating the January 15 show as a special priced anniversary performance. It is also dedicating its January 16 matinee to the Fremont Education Foundation.
StarStruck's anniversary season will culminate with a summer production of the epic, "Les Miserables."
StarStruck has consistently given Fremont excellence in community theatre while training youth in teamwork and self-confidence. For its dedication to such quality and commitment, Mayor Bob Wasserman and the City of Fremont proclaimed January 2010, "StarStruck Youth Performing Arts Month."
