India's Republic Day Kids Painting Competition

January 26 is celebrated as Republic Day of India and decreed as an Indian national holiday. Sunday, January 24 Fremont Hindu Temple will host India's Republic Day Kids Painting Competition. Children ages 3 years to 15 years are invited to participate. Participants may choose from any of the given topics like People, Places, Nature, Republic Day, Animals, Culture, Indian Dances, Indian Flag, Indian God and Goddess.
Bring your color and supplies; paper will be provided. Winners will receive trophies, awards, certificates from dignitaries in the Republic Day function organized by Federation of Indo-Americans of Northern California (FIA) on January 31. "This competition provides a platform to young kids for sharing Indian Values and learning about their culture. By creating beautiful paintings depicting Indian dances, Indian Flag they learn the importance of India's Republic Day," said Vinita Bhutoria, event organizer.
