December 16, 2009 > Demaray's wins state title Demaray's wins state title By Alyson Whitaker In the recent State Gymnastics Competitions, the girls team from Demaray's was well represented. At the Level 5 competition on November 28, Juliette Erickson placed ninth on floor; Sophia Cheng placed seventh on the uneven bars. The Level 4 girls left their mark on December 5. Placing in the top 10 were Aislin Garrett on bars; Madeline Ruiz on vault; and Andrea Nguyen on beam and vault. In addition to her top-10 beam and vault finish, Nguyen went on to take first place in the floor exercise with a score of 9.555. Competing against more than 1,000 competitors, Nguyen became the first Demaray's girl to win a State Title.
