December 2, 2009 > Business retention and attraction Business retention and attraction By Dustin Findley The Economic Development Commission (EDC) is organizing and will host a networking event for venture capitalists, entrepreneurs and high tech professionals to raise awareness of Milpitas as a suitable place to locate business. "We believe it's a very important activity. Milpitas is an important, strategic town in Silicon Valley yet does not have many start-up companies," explained Chair Dhaval Brahmbhatt to City Council. Start-ups and high-tech companies typically see growth which leads to job creation. The EDC plans to hold the event either in January or March 2010.
