Bill Mancebo's player spotlight: Jackson Cristopulos
This week the spotlight finds Jackson Cristopulos. He's 9 years old, in the fourth grade and already quite the well rounded athlete. This young man has played soccer for the FC Fremont Wolves; baseball for the Niles Centerville Little League Cubs; and is now looking to compete at track and field.
Keeping in shape is work but Jackson makes it fun by riding his bike everyday when he finishes his studies at Vallejo Mill Elementary. He says his favorite subjects in order are P.E., math and science.
He knows what he likes and it shows with a long list of hobbies, some of which are his Nintendo DS, playing Bolt on his Xbox 360 or Transformers on his PS3. If he tires with that he heads to a friend's house and picks up a Wii to enjoy Boom Blocks or Madden NFL 10.
While taking some time off in Hawaii a few weeks ago Jackson picked up on the sport of surfing. He now thinks that surfing, combined with tetherball and running, will help him achieve his new goal of becoming a top track and field performer.
Living a life this active is how he likes it but even Jackson looks forward to some quiet time and whenever possible he puts focus on his artistic talents and really enjoys drawing.
Favorite foods: Mom's chili dogs take the cake. Speaking of sweets, for dessert Jackson always calls for a hot fudge brownie sundae. And not to be outdone, his Dad's lasagna is also a top pick for dinner delights.
