Theatre Preview: "The Odd Couple"
The female version of "The Odd Couple" will have a limited-performance run at Washington High School (WHS) on December 4, 5, 10 and 11.
This is Neil Simon's famous comedy with a new twist. In the 1980s, Simon re-wrote his classic play to be about two divorced women. Olive and Florence (previously Oscar and Felix) are now divorced and forced to share an apartment together in New York, despite their vastly different habits. Conflict and hilarity ensue as they try to hook up with two sexy Spanish men from their building.
This performance kicks off the beginning of The Washington High School Theater Season. WHS will have two more productions this school year.
This is a student run event, with students in all classes participating in the production and performance. The technical director is Drydan Lafferty, stage manager is Shana Bishop and production manager is Rachael Kahn. The cast stars many rising actresses and actors:
Kim Chatterjee plays Olive, Haley Wilks- Florence, Kimberly Dutrow- Sylvie, Kristan Topham- Mickey, Sarah Kowalski- Renee, Lindsay McCarger- Vera, Lorenzo Domingue- Jesus Costazuela, and Andre Vernot- Monolo Costazuela. Understudies are Lindsay McCarger- Olive, Sarah Kowalski- Florence, Alex Drachnik- Renee, Jessica Watson- Vera, and Joshua Laquian- Monolo Costazuela.
