Council Communications Mayor Wasserman will invite Tri-City Mayors (Mark Green, Union City and David Smith, Newark) to sponsor a public meeting, tentatively scheduled for January 2010, to discuss reform of the California constitution. Council supported Councilman Bob Wieckowski's suggestion to invite an academic to explain the rationale for and against a constitutional convention.
Public Comment Mr. Asplind requested a suggestion box to combat ageism. He feels older community members' experience and sagacity are useful but their advice and ideas are often dismissed or ignored. A suggestion box at City Hall would provide some anonymity.
