On the weekend of November 8, officers from the Milpitas Police Department worked with the management and security staff at Embassy Suites to thwart potential automobile burglaries. Officers conducted extensive surveillance in the area. At about 3:50 a.m., officers noticed the suspect vehicle, a two door, 1995 Black Honda Civic, California License number 6FZL778, travel slowly into the parking lot and stop. Two occupants got out of the suspect vehicle and were wearing security guard uniforms. They began looking into parked vehicles, and one of the suspects used a flashlight. As additional officers were arriving, one of the suspects smashed a window of a parked vehicle and stole an i Pod and sunglasses. Officers arrested both suspects as they tried to leave the area, and the suspects were identified as Sergio Enrique Roque-Castanon, a 29 year-old San Jose resident and Juan Carlos Ramirez, a 22 year-old Santa Clara resident.
Officers determined the two suspects were responsible for other previously reported automobile burglaries that occurred in Milpitas. Both suspects were booked into the main jail for multiple charges of automobile burglary. The Police Department would like to remind residents to refrain from leaving personal items such as GPS devices, laptops, purses, etc., visible in parked vehicles. |
