Fremont Rotary, part of a worldwide organization of leaders dedicated to serving their communities, will be hosting a holiday home tour on Sunday, December 13 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The tour will feature four festively decorated homes in Glenmoor, Kimber Park, and Mission Hills.

After reserving their tour, participants will be mailed tickets and the address of the first home that will begin the tour. On the day of the event, each person will be given a map to guide them to the rest of the homes. Throughout the tour, wine, punch and hors d'oeuvres provided by Rotary cooks will be served as participants experience the beauty and spirit of the holiday season. Proceeds ($32 of every $35 ticket) from the tour, will benefit local charities including Friends of Children with Special Needs, Life Elder Care (Meals on Wheels), SAVE (Safe Alternatives to Violent Environments), ABODE, and Tri-City Volunteers.

Chartered in 1961, the Fremont Rotary Club actively participates in many local and international service projects including Polio Plus, a worldwide attempt to eradicate polio and local youth service programs. Members of Fremont Rotary are actively involved in the community and live by the Rotary motto, "Service above self," continually raising money and donating time to help the elderly, at-risk children and the homeless.

This is Fremont Rotary's first effort at hosting a holiday home tour and they hope over 300 people will visit the homes throughout the course of the day. Many Fremont businesses have already stepped up to help support the holiday home tour including Berge Pappas Smith Chapel of the Chimes, Home Pros, Bernardin Family McDonald's Restaurants, and Saki's Spin a Yarn.

"We wanted to try an innovative and fun approach to raising funds for local charities while introducing people to what Rotary is all about," said event Publicity Chair Nina Moore. "We thought that with all the charity events in Fremont that involve sit-down banquets, this would be something new and different!"

Tickets ($35) can be purchased by mailing a registration form found on Fremont Rotary's website, http://www.thefremontrotaryclub.org/, or by calling Home Pros at 1-800-756-7767.
