Envision sunny skies and a dry day. The Weather Channel predicts a temperature of 64 degrees for November 15, with sunny skies, a few clouds, and a 10 percent chance of precipitation. So expect a perfect day for an autumn trail ride.
Cat Taylor, of Sunol Regional Wilderness, describes the day, "The Valley Nature Ride gives you a unique perspective to explore this wilderness on horseback. You feel as if you are traveling back in time through a park rich in history - from Ohlone Indian village sites, to the first homesteaders, through a vibrant ranching culture, to today's wilderness preserve."
Savor the environment as you ride on the wilderness trail. The naturalist will point out highlights as the ride progresses. Participate; have a fun 45 minutes; and appreciate the glorious day.
While in Sunol Regional Wilderness Park, check out the Old Green Barn Visitor Center for exhibits and nature information. Trees abound: coast live oaks, valley and blue oak, and gray pine, among others, are evident. Alameda Creek nurtures alder, willow and sycamore trees. Birding is excellent near the creek, so bring your binoculars!
Sunol is a choice place to discover nature, history, and geology.
