November 4, 2009 > Steve Westly joins India Community Center's Board of Trustees Steve Westly joins India Community Center's Board of Trustees Submitted By Neha Kothari India Community Center (ICC) has appointed Steve Westly, former California State Controller, to the ICC's Board of Trustees. As controller of the state of California, Westly was the Chief Fiscal Officer of the sixth largest economy in the world. He began his career in government in Washington, D.C., where he worked on Capitol Hill and for the U.S. Department of Energy under President Jimmy Carter. In the private sector, Westly helped guide the online auction company eBay, Inc. from start-up to success as Senior Vice President of Marketing, Business Development, M&A and International. Currently, Westly is a Managing Partner at The Westly Group, a clean technology venture capital firm he founded. "We are delighted to have Steve Westly on board, a person with very impressive accomplishments and broad visionary thinking who also understands the aspirations of the Indo-American community,"said Talat Hasan, Chair, ICC Board of Trustees. Westly's joins Talat Hasan (Chairperson), Anil Godhwani (Secretary), Gautam Godhwani , Kumar Malavalli, Kanwal Rekhi and Sheena Vaidyanathan.
