Administrative Appeal of regarding fire inspection fees charged to appellant for Years 2004, 2005, and 2006:
In an administrative appeal the City Council decided that fire inspection fees charged to the appellant in this case for the years 2004, 2005 and 2006 were properly calculated and the costs allocated to the fire inspection services did not exceed the actual costs of providing the service. The City will not refund the fire inspection fees charged to the appellant for the year 2004, and will not waive the fees for the years 2005 and 2006.
Answering the pertinent legal question were the fees properly calculated, this is how the members of council voted. Councilmember Gomez was absent.

Consider Mayor's Request to the City Council to Discuss Possible Ban on Single-Use Plastic Shopping Bags:
City Council directed staff to work with the Milpitas Recycling and Source Reduction Advisory Commission to gather information regarding plastic bags and other containers that have environmental effects, and make use of the City of San Jose's environmental impact report (EIR) regarding the issue, and seek public input, especially regarding the impact on businesses. |
