The Gladiators football team showed off its running game and used swiftness to beat a surging Modesto Junior College team 36-20 on October 24 at Chabot.
Sophomore running back Tyler Mason scored three touchdowns and rushed for 153 yards. Sophomore running back Brandon Thompson rushed for 104 yards.
Sophomore quarterback Lanto Thomas threw two touchdowns, passing for 100 yards and had zero interceptions.
Chabot is now 3-4 overall. The team travels to Los Medanos College on October 31.
The men's soccer team snapped an eight-game losing streak by holding Mission College (0-7-0) to one goal in its 7-1 victory on October 20. Chabot won again on October 23 against Los Positas College 3-2.
The team is 2-7-0 in conference and 4-9-2 overall. The team plays Gavilan College on October 30 at Alden E. Oliver Sport Park.
The women's soccer team lost to Skyline College 3-2 on October 20. But Chabot took care of Monterey Peninsula College and shut it out 5-0. This was its first win since October 2 against Mission College.
The ladies improve to 3-3-1 in conference play and 5-9-2 overall. Chabot will play Cabrillo College on October 30 at Alden E. Oliver Sport Park.
Two Chabot wrestlers participated in the North v. South All-Star Match on October 24. Stephan De La Cruz and last-minute addition Milo Anderson helped the North team win 18-16. De La Cruz wrestled Mt. San Antonio College's Tony Archuleta at 141 pounds.
De La Cruz pinned his opponent in 2:35. He is 21-0 with 13 pins this year; Anderson, who wrestled at 197 pounds, lost a close match in overtime. |
