California Council for Adult Education to host Legislator's Forum
Submitted By Michelle Alaimo
The California Council for Adult Education (CCAE) Bay Section will host a Legislator's Forum on Friday, November 6, from 9 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. at Santa Clara Adult Education, 1840 Benton Street, Santa Clara.
The forum is designed to bring together local legislators, adult education leaders, teachers, students, and community members to discuss ways in which adult education prepares students for success in the 21st century. Representatives from Adult Education Centers from across the Bay Area will attend the forum to help communicate what kind of classes adult education offers.
Statewide, adult education programs offer a large variety of adult education programs including: Elementary and Secondary Basic Skills, English as a Second Language, Programs for Immigrants, Programs for Adults with Disabilities, Career Technical Education, Parent Education, Programs for Older Adults, Programs in Health and Safety Education, and County Correctional Education Programs. Adult education also offers fee-based classes for enrichment and life-long learning.
For more information, contact Santa Clara Adult Education Program Supervisors, Christine Berdiansky on (408) 423-3507 or at firstname.lastname@example.org or Becky Pestarino on (408) 423-2102 or email@example.com. Community members are welcome to attend the forum and do not need to RSVP.
