Get hooked on Beads
A beading class for all levels, "All You Ever Wanted to Know about Bead Crochet!" will be offered at the Fremont Art Association (FAA).
The class is presented by Susan Helmer, a very talented local artist and teacher. Helmer will guide students in the beautiful art of bead crochet and the creation of a crocheted bracelet. The history, materials and tools used in bead crochet creation will be discussed. Students will thread their own beads, start the crochet process and learn finishing techniques. Crochet experience is recommended and the results are truly wonderful to behold.
Helmer studied fiber arts and crafts at San Jose State to complete her minor in Art. During the 1970's she crocheted everything from purses to coats to halter tops and in 1990 she attended a bead design class taught by Helen Dietze. Susan combined the two materials with exquisite results and became "hooked on beads."
The fee for this half day class is $40.00.
Materials List: Crochet cotton size 10; Steel crochet hook size 5, 6 or 7; Seed beads size 6 in 2 or 3 colors (small tube of each color.)
