October is a beautiful month and for many it kicks off the holiday season. What better way to jump start your holiday season than a wonderful evening of food and entertainment? On Friday, October 2, the Sun Art Gallery Board of Directors and City Council members, Francisco Zermeno and Bill Quirk invite you to their Fall Fiesta for the Arts Fundraiser.

During this Fall Fiesta evening you will be served a sumptuous Mexican dinner provided by the Shark Shack and the beer and wine will be provided by Buffalo Bill's Brewery. You can't have a fiesta without live entertainment so participants will be treated to a performance by a Mexican dance company called Ballet Folklorico Tlapalli. Singer Senor Cisneros will be serenading everyone with beautiful, moving Mexican ballads. There will also be a live and silent auction of great prizes such as a golf game for four at the Stonebrae Country Club, lovely food baskets, personal services and many other items.

The Sun Art Gallery fundraisers help to support as many as 10 irreplaceable programs offered to the community, such as their Free Saturday Art for the Families, which is a popular program held year-round on the second and fourth Saturdays from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. At last year's Fall Fiesta they collected about $6,500.00 in donations and this year they want to reach the very ascertainable goal of $7,000.00. Raffle tickets will be handed out at the door so hang on to your ticket; you may just win a prize! All cities and municipalities have their eyes and budget on Sacramento, but you can help the Sun Gallery to meet their goal by coming out for what promises to be an unforgettable fiesta evening. A great way to help support the gallery is to become a sponsor, and sponsorships are available from $100 to $1,000.

"Where else for $35 can you get three hours of a great dinner and excellent entertainment? When you get off work at 5 p.m. on Friday October 2, head on over to the Gallery for an outstanding evening!" said Valerie Caveglia, current director of the Sun Art Gallery.

The Sun Art Gallery, a long standing non-profit art organization in Hayward for over 30 years, promotes art by offering many programs to the community. The top ten programs include themed art exhibits by California and national artists, too. In addition, they also have a permanent collection, which includes sculpture, paintings, ceramics, glass, photography and jewelry. The gallery also offers tours for schools, an Illustrators Exhibit and hands-on art.

Prepaid tickets are $35 per person and $40 at the door. If prepaying, please pay by October 1. Cash, credit cards and checks are acceptable and checks should be made payable to Sun Gallery. If you have any questions call Christine Bender at (510) 581-4050.
