Mission San Jose off to a slow start
By Idorenyin Uto-Uko
Mission San Jose's football team was looking for their first win of the season against Albany on Friday, Sept. 18, but it would not receive it as the Warriors lost their second game of the year, 48-0.
Last year MSJ played Albany in a very close battle and would lose the contest 28-6. That was last year.
This year Head Coach Rob Van Duesen's team has yet to score a point. They were blanked by Tenneyson of Hayward 21-0 in the season opener. Their struggles have only been limited to the playing field. The majority of the Warriors have been very aggressive in the classroom maintaining above a 3.0 GPA.
The team hopes their academic success translates to a win this Friday, Sept. 25, as they play their first home game against Hercules (1-2) at 7p.m. Hercules forfeited its game vs. MSJ last year for the Warriors only win of the season. |
