William "Ed" Connor

1936-2009

William "Ed" Connor of Milpitas passed away on September 7, 2009 leaving behind his son, Will Connor of San Jose, daughter-in-law Carolyn and grandson, Max.

Born in Youngwood, Pennsylvania in 1936, Ed graduated from Penn Technical Institute in engineering, served with the U.S. Army Signal Corps and came to California where he worked for and retired from California Paperboard Corporation.

Ed was very active in Milpitas civic affairs; a candidate for City Council in 2002 and 2004 and serving on the Senior Advisory Commission. He was past president of Milpitas/Berryessa Chapter of AARP and the South Bay Traditional Jazz Society and served on the board of directors of Live Oak Care Centers. He was also active in the ballroom dancing commission where he had many friends. For the past 10 years he traveled and danced with his companion, Helen McCrea. His friends remember him as being good natured and thoughtful.

Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 17 at St. Andrews Church, 13601 Saratoga Avenue, Saratoga at 2 p.m.
