Men's Soccer
The CSEB Pioneers dropped their fifth in a row, this time to San Francisco State on Sunday, Sept. 13, 4-1.

The Pioneers (1-5-0, 0-2-0) were able to hang with S.F. State, holding them to just a 1-0 lead going into halftime. Midfielder Michael Rossi tied the game up for CSUEB in the 55th minute off a free kick from Manny Cardenas to tie the game at 1-1.

However, the Gators would answer back with three goals of their own in a span of just five minutes. The first came off a penalty kick from Spencer Schwandt in the 76th minute, beating Pioneers goalkeeper Cesar Villa to go up 2-1, followed by Edgar Villagrana's header that got past Villa in the 77th minute for his second goal of the game which made the score 3-1.

Dylan Glass's fourth goal of the season in the 81st minute put S.F. State up 4-1. The Pioneers were outshot 16-5 on the day.

The Pioneers will look to end their current five-game skid when they travel to CSU Chico on Friday, Sept. 18.

Women's soccer
The Lady Pioneers had more success against S.F. State than the men's team did on Sunday, holding the Gators to a scoreless draw through extra time.

CSUEB (1-3-2, 0-1-1) outshot the Gaotrs 12-7, however both Nina Cefalo for CSUEB and Annicia Jones for S.F. State held strong in the net, as neither allowed a goal on the day.

Zuly Diaz found the lanes through the Gators backline, getting off three shots against Jones, however Jones was able to stop all three shots, finishing with five saves on the day.

The Lady pioneers will take on UC San Diego on Wednesday, Sept. 16.

Women's Volleyball
The losing skid continues for the Women's Volleyball team, as they lost their fifth straight match on Saturday to CSU-San Bernardino in three sets, 25-13, 25-21 and 25-18.

The loss marks the second time in the losing streak that the Lady Pioneers have been swept in three sets; the second time in the last five games that they've been swept.

Roxanne Neely led CSUEB with a .364 attack percentage, recording six kills and one ace along with a team high 12 assists against San Bernardino, and Brianna Bryant led the Lady Pioneers with eight kills in the match.

The Lady Pioneers will look to end their five-game skid as they continue their current four-game road trip at Carson to take on CSU- Dominguez Hills on Friday night, Sept. 18.
