East Bay native John Sasaki, the award-winning reporter and fill-in anchor at KTVU, will emcee Union City's 50th Anniversary Concert & Fireworks Spectacular this weekend.

In other last-minute updates, a special 50th Anniversary tribute video will be shown on the Jumbotron between performances.

In addition, two Union City vocalists will join the lineup of renowned entertainers that includes beach band Papa Doo Run Run and Quest Crew, the Season 3 winner of MTV's America's Best Dance Crew. They are Priya Vijaykumar, winner of Union City Teen Idol 2009, and Jazleen Serrano, who enchanted audiences in the Union City Teen Idol 2008 and 2007 competitions.

Advance tickets are recommended and may be purchased at Paddy's Coffee at 3900 Smith St., Union City. Tickets purchased at www.UnionCity50.com must be collected at the "will call" window at the ticket office.

The ticket office, located on H Street at the Logan Pavilion, will be open from 3:30 - 8 p.m. Cash and credit cards will be accepted. It may be difficult to find because of construction. When facing the school, enter the small parking area to the left of the construction zone to reach the ticket office and the H Street gate.

Advance ticketholders only can enter Logan stadium via Gate C on Alvarado-Niles Road and avoid the line at the ticket office gate.

H Street will be closed to vehicle traffic between Alvarado-Niles Road and Syracuse Avenue.

Ample parking is available in the James Logan High School parking lot.

Gate opens at 4:30 p.m. and entertainment begins at 5:45.

General admission seating will be available on the field (blankets permitted but not lawn chairs) and the bleachers. The only reserved seating will be for those holding VIP passes.

For security reasons, no outside food or beverages may be brought into the stadium, and no alcohol or smoking is allowed on school property. Bags and backpacks are subject to search.

Beverages and food will be available for purchase, but only water can be brought onto the field.

Handicapped parking will be available at the lot at Alvarado-Niles Road and H Street. Tickets for disabled concert goers only may be purchased there. Cash and exact change is appreciated, as credit cards cannot be accepted at this entrance.
